The St. Clair County Clerk of Courts is responsible for processing circuit court case records, among other duties. Court records are documents generated during legal proceedings, such as criminal case files, bankruptcy records, and records from family or probate court.

They contain information about these legal proceedings, including names of the parties involved, dates of hearings, testimony and evidence, and rulings in cases. Court records are kept in office for a period of time and then disposed of or archived. Most are considered public records, though some information may be redacted when copies are provided to the public. In some cases, court records may be sealed and require a court order to access, but many others can be accessed easily online. Angie Waters is the current Clerk of Circuit Court and Kimberly Bennett is the Chief Deputy Clerk of Court.
St. Clair County court records may be accessed online. There is no information on how to request in person (or it is very hard to find). To request online, there is a simple form that can be filled out to receive an emailed PDF of the requested document for $15.00. All online transactions include a $5 processing fee. Processing fee will not be refunded if record is not held in St. Clair County.
