The Courthouse today is three stories and faces south. It is built of buff-colored brick, limestone, and concrete. The front of the building is faced with limestone, and the rear section is brick. The spacious landscaped grounds provide enough green space to give the courthouse an elegant look. In the interior of the building are murals and mosaic tiles. The building was finished in 1953-54 and was renovated in 2002. On the front lawn is the bell from the 1872 courthouse.
The Courthouse houses the 31st Judicial District, County District Court, and County Probate Court. The building was renovated in 1980-82 when the third story and east and west wings were added. Again in 2002, the Courthouse underwent renovations.
