Inmates are classified within 72 hours and assigned to the general jail population. Inmates will receive a brief orientation and given visiting hours at the jail. Inmates will be given a copy of the Inmate Rules and Regulations and given a cell assignment.
There is a judicial sentence reduction program for inmates who have been committed to the St. Clair County Jail for 30 days or more and served half of the sentence. You can request 25% of the reduction on the remainder of the sentence.
Visitors must have an open account and schedule visits with the inmate. You can go online at www.videovistanywhere.com to schedule a visit, but your cannot visit with an account. Inmates will be allowed one scheduled visit per week that lasts about 30 minutes. If visitors do not show up for a scheduled visit, you cannot be rescheduled. Three visitors will be allowed during one visit, including children. Any child visiting needs to have a birth certificate and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All visits are monitored and recorded, and all visitors are subject to searches. Visits are scheduled Sunday through Thursday between 12:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. with the exception of the dinner hour at 5:00 p.m.
You may schedule as many video visits as you need. Remote visits are 20 minutes and cost $12.99. Remote visits are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm & 5:45 to 10:00 pm. All days of the week including holidays. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
Inmates are able to go into residential substance abuse treatment. They are also available to learn skills for effective living, domestic violence intervention program, anger management, and classes for effective parenting as well as banking and repairing credit classes. Inmates can also take advantage of a spiritual life program and community mental health services.
